MijoShop 2.1 released, Fully Multi-Language
I'm proud to announce another radical millestone for the leading Joomla Shopping Cart component, MijoShop. This millestone includes tens of new features, changes and fixes but the most important one is the multi-language adaptation with Joomla.

Multi-language

Multilingual feature is one of the most important parts of ecommerce and MijoShop is the only Joomla component that offers it in the core, no extra components required. However, till now, MijoShop was using both OpenCart's and Joomla language packages/features so we started the migration to only Joomla side with MijoShop v.2, about 1 month ago and now we're finalizing it by removing all of the language management parts of OpenCart and leaving the job totally to Joomla. Now, you won't have any Languages page anymore under the Localisation menu of MijoShop or options to set the frontend/backend languages in MijoShop settings. All of the removed parts are being adapted from your Joomla settings, as it works with all of the other components.

We've also updated our language packages on our site, there are 33 already downloadable languages on our site. They're all installable from Joomla extension installation page.

Note: Make sure that you've created or create a Content language for your language from Joomla Language Manager otherwise your products will disappear. They will appear back after you create the Content language.

2Checkout Direct Checkout

As we're in a strong collaboration with 2Checkout, we try the best to integrate it's features into MijoShop. In this release, we've added the latest feature of 2Checkout into it's payment gateway, Direct Checkout. It works as an overlay iframe that collects your customer’s payment information allowing your site to remain visible during the entire checkout process. It also shortens the checkout process by only requiring payment information and not all of the buying and shipping information like the normal one. Here you can find more info about 2Checkout Direct Checkout, we use it on our site.

PayPal Pro iFrame and PayPal Payflow Pro iFrame

PayPal Pro was already inside MijoShop but it doesn't support iFrame. Running PayPal Pro in an iFrame allows merchants to hide the identity of the PayPal payment gateway for their card payments. It also reduces the requirements of a merchant’s PCI compliance, so there is no need for a dedicated server or VPS and penetration testing to become compliant - all payment pages are hosted at PayPal and not on your store. In addition, it is much more user friendly with your customers not being redirected to PayPal during the payment process. US users who use PayPal Payflow Pro can also benefit from the iFrame payment gateway.

PayPal Express Checkout

PayPal Express Checkout is one of the newer features of PayPal, allowing customers to checkout in just a few clicks. Customers can login to their existing PayPal account and use their existing account details so there is no need to enter information again. There is also a new PayPal account search feature if you enable and use the PayPal Express Checkout! You can now search for PayPal data directly from MijoShop admin panel. View transactions, issue refunds and other tools are now available to help minimize your admin duties.

Upgrade, Support and Cache integration

Till this release, MijoShop used to show the Upgrade and Support pages as Joomla view and not a native MijoShop view which used to create a feeling you had gone outside of MijoShop. It's changed in this release and shown inside MijoShop. We've also moed the cache files of MijoShop to the Joomla cache directory so they could be managed from the Cache Manager of Joomla.

Bug Fixes

Lastly, as you can see from the changelog, we've fixed tons of bugs in this release. Almost all of them are still available in the standalone version of OpenCart so I hope you can see the point of our decision made with MijoShop v.2 here.

How to upgrade to MijoShop v.2

Very simple, check this article plz. Even we use a dedicated server, the automatic upgrade may fail sometimes due to the high load. You can use the manual upgrade in such a case. As always, don't forget to take a back-up before upgrading.

I have been in the process of upgrading a site to the new MijoShop 2 and have had a few teething problems with VQMods.

Your support staff have been excellent in helping me with any issues and if I hadn’t already given you a 5* rating in the extension directory I would do so now!!

Keep up the great work!
